The Powerful Subconscious Mind .......
Hypnotherapy relaxes our conscious mind thus opening up communication with our unconscious mind, allowing us to make lasting changes in the deepest
part of our minds.
In Freud's psychoanalytic theory of personality, the unconscious mind is a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges, and memories that outside of our conscious awareness.
Most of the contents of the unconscious are unacceptable or unpleasant, such as feelings of pain, anxiety, or conflict. According to Freud, the unconscious
continues to influence our behavior and experience, even though we are unaware of these underlying influences
Research shows iit stores all your previous life experiences, your belief system, your memories, your skills, all situations you've been through,
and all images you've ever seen. This is because the conscious brain has a short-term action capicity. It only realises approximately 5% of our
actions. So this is why everything gets processed and put into the other part of our brains, the subconscious. A good example is someone who's just started to learn to drive. The information and learning is still very much in the conscious mind. They have to think about slowing down, braking and changing gear. For an experienced driver these processes have been learnt therfore transferred to the subconscious mind and so their conscious
mind is free to function on other things.
This is also why Hypnotherapy is so effective with habit breaking. As its the subconscious mind that holds all of these learnt habits. By accessing the subconscious mind and re-training it, habits can be easily dispelled with often no withdrawal symptoms.
